Cllr Gareth Lloyd Davies, a mental health support worker, has been selected as the candidate for the Vale of Clwyd. The next Welsh Assembly election is 2021.
Our candidate is a member of both Prestatyn town council and Denbighshire county council.
Cllr Davies launched his campaign on Rhyl promenade and met with Conservative members as well as activists and councillors to outline his campaign speaking with great passion on the issues at the heart of his promise of a better future for the people of the Vale of Clwyd.
He said: "We've had the same assembly member in the Vale of Clwyd for 20 years and the same party in government for 20 years, 22 years by the next election. I believe that it's time we elected someone who is young, passionate and energetic to deliver change a fresh outlook for our great area.
"If elected, I'd like to see Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) coming out of special measures, A&E waiting targets being met in Glan Clwyd Hospital, better standards of health and social care for people of all ages using our local services, secure better provisions for children and adults with autism in accessing services, campaign for a fair funding formula for Denbighshire County Council.
"My aim over the next two years will be to speak to as many people as possible in the Vale of Clwyd of all ages to set out my message that we can do better in North Wales and Denbighshire and that a fresh face for our area would be a step in the right direction."
